On the January 20 episode of his podcast, Jason Tartick, 36, shared a story about the reaction he received after reposting a photo with his guest, Lichy, 37. “A ton of people were like, ‘Oh my God, I thought this was your ex-fiancée,'” Tartick explained. “I didn’t realize it, but the one picture I posted made it seem like that.” Tartick admitted his surprise, saying, “I was like, ‘Oh, my God.'”
He clarified that while he doesn’t believe Lichy and his ex-fiancée Kaitlyn Bristowe, 39, actually look alike, the image in question made people do a double take. “They thought you were interviewing your ex-fiancée?” Lichy asked. Tartick responded, “They were like, ‘I had to do a triple check right there.’ I’m like, ‘No, that would have been an interesting interview.'”
Tartick and Bristowe ended their engagement in August 2023, after two years together. Since their split, both have openly discussed the end of their relationship. Bristowe, in a January 2024 episode of her “Off the Vine” podcast, touched on how Tartick seemed to have a “victim mentality” following their breakup. “I don’t want to dismiss that he’s hurting, his feelings are valid,” Bristowe said. “I’ve talked to him honestly, and we’ve been transparent with each other to have respect for one another.”
Months later, after Tartick began dating Kat Stickler, Bristowe posted on Instagram Story in June 2024, expressing frustration with people’s behavior. “People make me sick,” she wrote. “What people will do for attention makes me want to leave the internet forever.”
Tartick and Stickler, 30, announced their breakup in October 2024 after six months of dating. Meanwhile, Bristowe started a relationship with Zac Clark in late 2023 and swiftly addressed rumors about infidelity with Tartick. In January 2024, she posted on Instagram, expressing her frustration with online hate. “You would think by now I’d be used to the hate. I’m not. Your words hurt,” she wrote. “Part of me feels sad and honestly embarrassed for you because this shouldn’t be how you spend the first day of the new year.”
Bristowe continued, calling out the intensity of online bullying: “You are allowed to have opinions, but you don’t even know the truth. Your hate should come with consequences. I truly worry about some of your mental health. It’s not OK. Please, please feel ashamed of yourselves for treating someone this way.”
In response to rumors of infidelity, Bristowe firmly denied them in a separate post: “I’m here to say there was never any cheating, and I will not stand for this rumor. Y’all are nasty in here. Swear on my dog’s life, no cheating happened. So, we can just put that to rest. Thank you!! Happy New Year, everyone. Go donate some blood or something!”
