Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa have managed to maintain a positive relationship with each other’s families, despite their divorce.
In the latest episode of The Flip Off, which aired on Wednesday, February 5, Tarek, 43, and his wife Heather El Moussa chose a room to upgrade in their respective homes. Meanwhile, Christina, 41, got the role of judge and decided to bring her own mother as well as Tarek’s mother along. Christina shared a light-hearted moment, saying, “No, she definitely won’t side with him. We have a very good relationship. She even told me not to marry him and to marry the dog. For real.”
Christina expressed confidence in Tarek’s mom being unbiased. “I have a long history with Tarek’s mom. She has traveled with me post-divorce, with me and the children,” said Christina, who shares daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9, with Tarek. “We talk on the phone. I definitely feel like I’m her favorite.”
Christina and Tarek first gained fame together on Flip or Flop. Their marriage lasted from 2009 to 2018, and they continued working together on the show even after their divorce. Christina later married Ant Anstead in 2018, and they had a son, Hudson, in 2019. However, their marriage ended, and Christina moved on with Josh Hall. They filmed less than one episode of The Flip Off together before their split, and Christina filed for divorce in July 2024. She has since been linked to Christopher LaRocca.
“It’s much easier to film with someone when you don’t have to go home with them,” Christina told Us Weekly in a cover story last month. “It’s not usually a good idea to film with a spouse.” She also spoke about her experience with Josh while filming, saying, “Josh was very hard to film with. He didn’t get it… He’d always get upset with me, like ‘Oh, my gosh, you did this’ or ‘You did that.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m making a TV show.’ Ultimately, it was better that he left after episode one because the show would’ve sucked.”
Despite her past experiences, Christina has “zero concerns” about working with Tarek. She shared, “Tarek and I have been fine more than we have not been,” adding that the past few years have been smoother. Tarek also commented on their working relationship, saying, “It took us almost 10 years to get there, so going back into shooting together, it’s a lot more of an intimate relationship. There were some reservations. But as the show has gone on, we’ve realized it’s just business.”
