As he made the joke, Gaga shook her head and exchanged a look with Michael, which many interpreted as a sign that they would discuss the moment later.
While some may have thought these reactions were directed at Trevor’s joke, they could also be seen as a response to the broader issue of anti-immigrant rhetoric, especially from the Trump administration, which has been widely criticized.
