Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel quickly responded to President Donald Trump’s recent remarks about Taylor Swift, following his comments on her getting booed at the 2025 Super Bowl. Trump, using his social media platform Truth Social, claimed, “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving.”
The former president’s disapproval of Swift has been clear since she publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in September 2024.
During his monologue on Monday, Kimmel fact-checked Trump’s statement. He pointed out that Swift did not get booed out of the stadium, and in fact, stayed for the entire game—unlike Trump, who left at halftime. “Unlike you, she stayed for the whole game, and it was Eagles fans who were booing her,” Kimmel noted. He also humorously added, “But you’re right, it’s all about you. It’s always all about you.”
Kimmel continued to joke about Trump’s feelings towards Swift, saying, “Trump’s just jealous of Taylor Swift because she has more followers, more money, and no kids than he does.”
Swift attended the Super Bowl to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The cameras briefly showed her on the jumbotron, prompting boos from Philadelphia Eagles fans. Similarly, when cameras turned to Trump, the crowd’s response was a mix of both cheers and boos. Speculation arose online that the broadcast team had intentionally shown Trump during Jon Batiste’s national anthem performance to balance the reactions.
When asked about Trump’s attendance, Kelce responded, “That’s awesome. No matter who the president is… it’s the biggest game of my life and having the president there, you know, it’s the best country in the world. So, that’d be pretty cool.”
