In the first episode of The White Lotus season three, it wasn’t hard to see where everyone’s attention was focused, including that of actor Chris Pratt.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star, married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, recently spoke to E! News about watching his brother-in-law, Patrick Schwarzenegger, in the latest season of Mike White’s popular HBO series. This includes a nude scene featuring Patrick in the premiere episode.
“I know where my eyes went — I’m not blood-related to him, I was looking at that dick, bro,” Pratt joked, adding, “No, he looks amazing. Obviously, he’s a physical specimen, but also he’s a really solid actor because the character he’s playing is completely different from who he is.”
In season three, which takes place in Thailand, Patrick plays Saxon Ratliff, a finance-bro and sex pest. His character is vacationing with his Southern family, including father Timothy (played by Jason Isaacs), mother Victoria (Parker Posey), sister Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook), and brother Lochlan (Sam Nivola).
Pratt continued to praise Patrick’s performance, saying, “He created a character. It feels natural and good. I’ve been telling everybody for years, and I’ve been telling him too, I really think we’re entering a decade of Patrick. He’s been working hard. He’s not just hustling in acting but also in business. He’s driven, and I know he gets that from both his mom and his dad.”
During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Patrick — the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver — shared some insight into filming the nude scene. “On the day we filmed that scene, they had like underwear and pajamas available, but I thought, ‘This guy would just walk around naked.’ This isn’t the type of guy who wears pajamas to bed,” he explained. “He sleeps naked, and his brother being there isn’t going to change anything. You see that in the line where he says, ‘The real issue is how I’m going to jerk off with you in here.’ It’s such a ridiculous line, but that’s exactly what’s going through his head.”
