Serena Williams has unintentionally sparked a wave of Drake jokes, and it’s hard not to laugh.
Last year, Williams expressed interest in owning a WNBA team. Now, that dream has come true. She is the newest owner of the Toronto Tempo, one of the league’s expansion franchises. As part of her role, Williams will help design the team’s jerseys and collaborate on merchandise.
While the news itself is exciting, the jokes that followed were even better. Basketball fans quickly made the connection between Serena’s ex, Drake, and the Canadian team. The playful teasing, which started during her Super Bowl appearance with Kendrick Lamar, took off from there.
