Comedian Nikki Glaser, known for her sharp humor, is being recognized for her dedication to animal advocacy. PETA is awarding her the first-ever “Stand Up for Animals Award” in celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8. While Glaser is famous for her comedy, she is equally passionate about promoting kindness to animals.
Recently, Glaser participated in a PETA campaign, where she stripped down to raise awareness against using animals for wool, skin, feathers, and fur. She also took a stand against SeaWorld during the company’s virtual annual meeting last June. Glaser urged the executives to end the practice of imprisoning and forcibly breeding dolphins and whales, calling for an end to their “miserable fate” in confined tanks.
A committed vegan, Glaser is also a guardian to three adopted dogs. She frequently advocates for animal adoption over buying from breeders and pet stores.
PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange praised Glaser’s efforts, saying, “Nikki Glaser is doing amazing work in supporting a kinder world for exploited animals, from sheep exploited for wool to orcas trapped at SeaWorld. We’re recognizing her for her advocacy, vegan lifestyle, dog adoption, and overall commitment to animals.”
PETA emphasizes the importance of addressing the homeless animal crisis in Los Angeles and across the U.S. by enforcing strict spay-and-neuter laws and encouraging adoption instead of purchasing from breeders. To follow Glaser’s example, people are encouraged to choose eco-friendly and animal-safe vegan products. PETA also advises avoiding SeaWorld, where over 40 orcas and more than 500 other dolphins and whales have died in captivity.
