During a recent concert in St. Louis, Yelawolf energized the crowd by joking about Eminem.
Yelawolf is currently on tour. While standing under the stage lights, he decided to have some fun with the audience. He hyped up the crowd by shouting:
“Make some fucking noise for the one and only Mr. Marshall fucking Mathers!”
After a dramatic pause, he followed up with a twist:
“I’m just joking. Hahaha! I can’t afford Eminem, neither can you. But you’ve got me, goddamn it!”
The crowd responded politely, but it was unclear if the joke truly landed. Some found it strange that Yelawolf, an artist who has built his own career and sound, would compare himself to Eminem in a “budget” way.
In reality, getting Eminem to appear at a concert is not just about money. While Eminem does get paid for major public events — such as his recent performance at the Crawford vs. Madrimov fight — appearances at shows for friends like Ed Sheeran or 50 Cent are based on personal relationships, not financial deals.
Similarly, securing a guest verse from Eminem is not about offering a big paycheck. It depends on respect, loyalty, and close connections. Yelawolf understands this well. He previously collaborated with Eminem on a track for his Shady Records album.
