Shreveport’s ‘It’s So Cold’ Jokes Could Be the Funniest Ever

by Diana Ward

Shreveport has experienced some of the coldest temperatures in recent memory, with this morning’s low possibly breaking a record. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed by the National Weather Service yet, the temperature at 7:00 a.m. was 15 degrees at the Shreveport Regional Airport, which is colder than the previous record low of 16 degrees set in 1959.

This bitter cold follows a brutal cold front that has affected the entire Arklatex region. South Louisiana even issued its first-ever “Blizzard Warning” due to the extreme weather. The cold has been so intense that New Orleans had to bring in snow plows from Indiana to clear the roads.

In Shreveport, residents aren’t exactly equipped for such frigid conditions. But instead of letting the cold get them down, many are finding ways to laugh through it. Social media influencer Emma Banes offered her humorous take on how Southerners are handling the winter storm.

Among the many “It’s So Cold” jokes circulating, some of the funniest are coming from right here in Shreveport. Local residents have been sharing their own creative jokes, earning the city a spot in what might be the funniest collection of “It’s So Cold” humor of all time.
