Denise Richards is embracing motherhood with humor.
In the trailer for her upcoming Bravo reality show, Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, the Wild Things actress jokingly admits that she and her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen, may not have been perfect parents.
“I guess you have a messed-up mom and a messed-up dad, and now I’ve got messed-up kids,” Richards tells her daughters, Sami Sheen, 20, and Lola Sheen, 19, in the teaser released Tuesday.
Her comment prompts a shocked reaction from Sami and a gasp from Lola. Laughing, Richards quickly reassures them, saying, “I’m kidding.”
Balancing Motherhood and Career
Earlier in the trailer, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum reflects on the challenges of managing her personal and professional life.
“I’m an actress, a wife, and part of the Hollywood world, but I’m also a mom,” the 53-year-old explains.
Richards, who shares Sami and Lola with Sheen from their four-year marriage, admits that keeping the family together has become increasingly difficult.
“These girls make it so hard,” she says in a confessional. “People think parenting gets easier when kids grow up. It actually gets harder. And there’s no handbook for it either, that’s for sure.”
The teaser also captures a tense moment between Sami and Lola, with Sami calling her younger sister a “bitch.”
“I wouldn’t talk to you like this if you weren’t such a bitch, dude,” Sami says. Richards quickly steps in, correcting her: “Don’t call her ‘dude.’ She’s your sister.”
Family Dynamics on Display
Richards’ husband, Aaron Phypers, makes a brief appearance in the trailer, hinting at his role in the reality series.
In addition to Sami and Lola, Richards is also mom to her 13-year-old daughter, Eloise, whom she adopted after her divorce from Sheen. Eloise also appears in the show.
Richards and Phypers, who married in 2018, previously appeared on RHOBH during her two-season run starting in Season 9.
Denise Richards & Her Wild Things premieres on Bravo on March 7.
