Police in Maharashtra’s Solapur district have filed a case against 10 to 12 individuals accused of assaulting stand-up comedian Pranit More. The attack allegedly occurred after the group took offense to jokes More made about actor Veer Pahariya during a show on Sunday. According to the police complaint, the assailants attacked More after the event, physically assaulting him.
Pahariya, who is the grandson of former State Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, is known for his role in the recently released action film Sky Force.
In a statement posted on his social media, More described the assault, claiming he was punched and kicked repeatedly, resulting in injuries. Following the post, Solapur police summoned More to provide a statement, but he did not appear, according to officials on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
The case was registered after a complaint from the owner of the restaurant where More’s performance took place.
