Weeks after the controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia, comedian Tanmay Bhat has posted a reaction video on YouTube, where he addresses the issue. In the video, Tanmay reveals that he had invited Ranveer to join him for a reaction video before the scandal broke out. However, since the controversy, Ranveer has stopped replying to his messages.
The video features fellow stand-up comedians Rohan Joshi, Kaustubh Agarwal, Piyush Sharma, Kushagra Srivastava, and Ravi Gupta. Rohan, Kaustubh, and Ravi had previously appeared on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent.
Tanmay starts the video by reading a comment from one of his viewers, which humorously asked, “Would you rather keep doing reaction episodes or bring Ranveer once and end it?” The panel laughs as the question closely resembles the one that got Ranveer in trouble—asking whether someone would rather watch their parents engage in intimate acts every day or participate once to make it stop forever.
Tanmay then recalls his last interaction with Ranveer, saying, “Just two weeks before this whole thing happened, I texted Ranveer asking him to do a reaction video on fitness memes. He isn’t responding—I wonder what happened.”
The video also features a meme comparing Ranveer’s scream from India’s Got Latent with the sound of a police siren, which prompts laughter from the entire group. At one point, Tanmay asks if anyone plays video games, and Ravi Gupta humorously responds, “Samay used to. He played chess a lot.”
Later, a clip plays showing comedian Sunil Pal criticizing India’s Got Latent on a TV news channel. While the panel was expected to react with humor, Kushagra Srivastava expresses frustration instead. “Sunil Pal triggered all of us,” he says. Tanmay agrees, admitting, “We all forgot our jokes.” Kushagra adds, “Gussa aa gaya sabko (Everyone got angry).”
The video also highlights how actor-model Manvi Taneja criticized Sunil Pal on the same broadcast, calling him irrelevant and untalented.
Following the controversial remark by Ranveer, multiple FIRs were filed against him, Samay Raina, and the other panelists from that episode of India’s Got Latent. In response to the backlash, Samay removed all episodes of the show from his YouTube channel.
