T-Pain has found a humorous way to respond to jokes about his financial status. After fans joked that the rapper behind “Buy U A Drank” was flying commercial due to money issues, he shared a video on Instagram showcasing the luxurious yacht he was staying on.
In the video, posted on Thursday, March 6, T-Pain gives viewers a tour of the yacht, which includes marble statues, skylights, separate sleeping quarters, and a full bar. “I guess I’m broke. Anyways, here’s the yacht I’m staying on,” he joked in the caption.
As he walked around the deck, T-Pain showed off the yacht’s dining table, lounge seating, and jacuzzi. “It’s all within reach, ya know?” he said. He cheekily captioned the clip, “yOu dIdNt fLY pRIvaTe???”
This video came after T-Pain discussed the high cost of flying private jets. He explained in another Instagram post, “If it don’t make dollars, it don’t make sense!!! Pass me the Biscoff cookies,” referring to the caramel cookies served on Delta flights.
T-Pain also shared that a private jet trip from Atlanta to Vegas and back would cost $126,000. “And y’all are asking me… Do you understand what I’m saying?” he said. “Are you okay now? Do you feel like it? No private jet? What? You’re not spending all this money to go make money. Why would you do that? In what world is that smart?”
His comments sparked fans to joke about him having money troubles, prompting the yacht video as a playful response. Delta Airlines supported T-Pain’s stance, commenting, “Make it make sense.” Timbaland and Big Sean also joined in with support, adding their own comments.
T-Pain has been open about his financial ups and downs in the past. In a 2019 interview on The Breakfast Club, he shared his experience of having both wealth and financial struggles. “I’ve been mega-rich, you know, I’ve been super broke, right in the middle of thinking I was mega-rich, and then got rich again,” he said. He explained that he learned to manage his money better and value his work once he realized the importance of finances.
