ASAP Rocky took a lighthearted approach when asked about his highly anticipated new album, Don’t Be Dumb, during Paris Fashion Week. Responding to a paparazzo’s question, he joked, “You gon’ get me beat up out here.” The rapper, who has been teasing the album since 2022, smiled as he playfully added, “Don’t do me like that. Listen, don’t make me do that right now, man. You gonna get me beat up out here, bro. They looking, they on my head, bro. ‘Cause of questions like that! I can’t even… I gotta go.”
Fans hoping for an update on the album’s release were left disappointed, as no new information was shared. The album, originally scheduled for release in August 2024, was delayed due to sample clearance issues and leaks. In 2023, Rocky revealed that Don’t Be Dumb would feature contributions from top producers such as Tyler, the Creator, Madlib, Hit-Boy, Boi-1da, Alchemist, Metro Boomin, Mike Dean, and Clams Casino. While he confirmed the album is “done,” no official release date has been announced yet.
In a recent interview with GQ, Rocky acknowledged that fans are eagerly awaiting new music, stating, “The truth of the matter is fans, they’re starving.” He went on to express that artists like Frank Ocean, Lauryn Hill, D’Angelo, Rihanna, and himself take their time to create timeless projects, saying, “That’s all that matters.”
