Max Verstappen and George Russell’s relationship took a hit during the final two Grands Prix of the 2024 season. However, after a tense exchange of words earlier this year, the two drivers have now clarified their current standing.
The conflict between Verstappen and Russell became a focal point at the Qatar Grand Prix after qualifying, as the drivers’ championship had already been decided, leaving only the constructors’ title at stake.
During the press conference following the race in Melbourne, where they finished in second and third place, Verstappen and Russell were asked about their relationship. Lando Norris, who sat between them, played a neutral role as they spoke.
Verstappen joked about their dynamic, saying, “It’s still shockingly bad,” laughing before quickly adding, “I mean, it’s all good.” Russell didn’t elaborate much, simply agreeing with Verstappen’s lighthearted response, saying, “What he said.”
