Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade clinched a vital EuroLeague victory in Round 30, defeating Olympiacos 81-73. Nemanja Nedovic contributed nine points and six assists in his team’s 17th win of the season and discussed the importance of the result.
After the final buzzer, Zvezda players gathered in front of the stands, where fans from both teams were seated, to celebrate. However, much of the postgame conversation centered around Nedovic’s absence from the on-court celebrations. Some fans, including Greek supporters, speculated on social media about why he didn’t join the crowd. Nedovic, however, provided a simple explanation.
“I had to go to the bathroom,” he said with a smile.
The Serbian guard took a lighthearted approach to the speculation, adding, “They know what it is for sure.”
Nedovic also reacted humorously when his teammate Filip Petrusev encouraged him to sing along to a popular Olympiacos chant after Zvezda’s victory in the Korac Cup final in Nis a month ago.
“I don’t remember,” Nedovic replied.
On the game itself, Nedovic praised Zvezda’s execution of their strategy and their confidence in the first half.
“We fought against the best team in the league and managed to come out with a huge win. It was a crucial moment for us,” he said.
The win was particularly significant after a tough stretch following the national cup competition.
“We struggled a bit after the cup, with three losses in a row, so it was really important to show some reaction,” he admitted.
Nedovic emphasized the need for consistency, especially in the EuroLeague, where every game is critical.
“We have to carry this confidence and quality of play into our next games.”
