Pedro Pascal is asking for a bit of privacy when it comes to his coffee habits.
Last year, photos of the Last of Us star holding a cup of coffee went viral. The images revealed his highly-caffeinated order: six espresso shots on the side of the cup. Pascal, however, was not thrilled about having his “incredibly private” morning routine exposed.
On last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Pascal jokingly shared his frustration. “I cannot begin to tell you how violating this was,” he laughed, as Kimmel asked about his six-shot coffee habit.
Pascal explained the evolution of his order, saying, “It was always a quad, but then I feel like the cups got bigger, and I don’t know, the shots got less strong. At some point, it became six.”
He added, “It was an incredibly private morning ritual that I never wanted anyone to know about. I don’t have more coffee for the rest of the day, I swear!”
Kimmel joked about the amount of caffeine, calling it a “methaccino.” Pascal responded that the mega-shot of coffee does help his productivity. “You sip it, you get really high, and you answer emails and stuff.”
With Pascal’s busy schedule, it’s no surprise he might need that energy boost. The actor is gearing up for the second season of The Last of Us, set to air on April 13. He’s also set to appear as Mr. Fantastic in the upcoming Fantastic 4 reboot, along with roles in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Given his packed calendar, Pascal’s espresso count may just keep rising.
