Kim Dae-ho kicked off his journey on The Great Guide 2 with a humorous take on his decision to leave his previous job. The variety show, which premiered on MBC Every1 on April 8, showcased his lighthearted response to the production team’s concerns about his freelance status. He joked, “Is this the time to distinguish between life and death?” He added, “The important thing is that I wanted to travel after going freelance,” which brought laughter from the cast.
Kim Dae-ho shared that just two days after resigning, he had hoped to escape his busy routine and explore new places. His fellow cast member, Choi Daniel, also joined the conversation and was asked about his thoughts on traveling. Choi Daniel candidly admitted, “I don’t like it that much,” which led to playful teasing from Park Myung-soo, who said, “We need to quickly change the grants.”
As the conversation continued, Choi Daniel confessed that he had no idea where he was going or what to pack, prompting the group to joke, “So curious, just like an elementary school student.” When Park Myung-soo asked if Choi Daniel knew the title of the show, he responded, “Of course.” The team also asked him where he would like to travel. Choi Daniel mentioned cities like New York and Japan, to which Park Myung-soo humorously questioned if he was just looking for a fun vacation. Kim Dae-ho, on the other hand, expressed a preference for remote areas and nature.
When Choi Daniel and Park Myung-soo both admitted they didn’t like remote locations, Kim Dae-ho quipped, “Am I out of the picture? What should I do?” This moment also sparked laughter from the group.
Later, Choi Daniel arrived with two travel bags, which he awkwardly combined into one. He shared, “I didn’t know they weighed the bags at the airport; I really haven’t traveled much,” causing some good-natured teasing. The group explained that it simply meant additional costs for his luggage.
Finally, Park Myung-soo joined, and the three were fully gathered. Kim Dae-ho stood out with his travel carry-on luggage. The team also discussed their budget, agreeing on 1 million won per person for the five-day trip.
