ATLANTA – Grammy-winning rapper Lil Nas X, born Montero Lamar Hill, has been hospitalized after suffering partial paralysis on the right side of his face.
The 26-year-old Atlanta native revealed the news in a video shared on Instagram. In the clip, he showed fans that he could not move part of his face. He did not share what caused the condition but mentioned that it is expected to be temporary. Keeping a light tone, he joked in the video, saying he would “just have to look funny for a little bit.”
Several medical conditions can cause facial paralysis. These include Bell’s palsy, Lyme disease, shingles, a stroke, or reactions to certain medications. However, Lil Nas X did not say which condition might be responsible in his case.
The rapper grew up in the Bankhead area of metro Atlanta before moving to Austell. He attended Lithia Springs High School and later enrolled at the University of West Georgia, though he left to focus on his music career.
Lil Nas X became a global sensation with his hit single “Old Town Road.” He released his debut album Montero in 2021. Most recently, he released the EP Days Before Dreamboy and is preparing to launch his second full-length album Dreamboy later this year.
