Roy Keane Jokes De Bruyne Should Join Man Utd: “No Need to Move House”

Kevin De Bruyne, the Belgian midfielder, has played 34 matches for Manchester City this season, contributing five goals and eight assists across all competitions. However, after ten years and 416 games with the club, De Bruyne is preparing for a new challenge.

Ahead of City’s crucial match against Aston Villa, as they battle for Champions League qualification, Roy Keane joked during a Sky Sports broadcast that De Bruyne should remain in Manchester but make a move to Old Trafford. When Sky pundit Shay Given expressed concerns that De Bruyne could join another Premier League club, Keane responded humorously, saying, “United? He wouldn’t have to move house.”

After City’s 2-0 victory over Everton on Saturday, De Bruyne addressed the media about his future. He admitted that it was “a little bit of a shock” that the club had not offered him a new contract. However, he remained optimistic, stating that he could continue performing at a high level. “I’m open for anything,” he said, hinting at possible next steps.

De Bruyne has been linked with a move to Major League Soccer or the Saudi Pro League, but there are also rumors suggesting he could join another Premier League team.

Keane still believes that De Bruyne has the quality to make an impact, should the opportunity arise. “We know how ruthless Manchester City can be at a certain age,” Keane said. “Give him time on the ball, and he will punish you. As much as you try to stop him, you can’t in certain areas.”
