Erin Foster is sharing the thought process behind her newborn daughter Noa’s wardrobe.
The 42-year-old creator of Nobody Wants This was at the launch of her and her sister, actress Sara Foster’s, Favorite Daughter collection at Nordstrom on Monday. During the event, Erin discussed her daughter’s fashion sense and her own approach to dressing the little one.
When asked if she had a specific style she wanted to pass on to her kids, Erin revealed that her daughter’s style has surprised her. “My daughter is very fashionable. Very unexpected. I planned on dressing her in a tomboyish, street style. But when she was born, she felt like a Russian doll from the turn of the century, and she needed to wear bonnets,” Erin told People Magazine.
Sara chimed in, calling Noa “very rich, very royal.” Erin humorously added, “I didn’t see that for us, but she’s just drawn to the Victorian era. I don’t know, it’s just what her soul wants.”
Erin also shared a funny moment with her mother, who was surprised by how particular Erin has been about Noa’s clothes. “My mom will bring something in and I’m like, ‘Oh, no, sorry, she doesn’t wear bubble pink. She wears neutral colors like mint, peach, pale pink, beige, and light blue,’” Erin explained. “We’re very particular.”
The first-time mom joked, “Bright colors are not included.”
Meanwhile, Sara expressed pride in her 14-year-old daughter Valentina’s artistic approach to fashion. “She’s not trying to show off. She’s very into the art of fashion,” Sara, 44, said. “Instead of posting a photo of herself in a dress, she’ll post a picture of a corner with a book and the light coming in. It’s very cool, and it makes me honestly very proud of her.”
Sara also spoke about her 9-year-old daughter Josephine, who is more focused on tennis than style. “She’s more athletic and doesn’t really think about style yet,” Sara said.
Erin welcomed Noa last May with her husband, Simon Tikhman, through IVF.
